About the Yoga Journey:
I needed a more gentle way to work out my mind and body after suffering an Achilles Tendon rupture April of 2011. I was tortured of being inactive and wearing several different leg casts over a 7 month period. During this period, I realized I was being too hard on my body. I began looking at Yoga Videos and Tutorials on YouTube and was quickly influenced by a number of phenomenal Yogis.
January 2012 my practice with yoga began. As anxious as I was I knew I had to take my time beginning my practice recovering from the Achilles Tendon Rupture. Sun Salutations A was my first sequence I learned. I must admit, at first I was quite frustrated because I did not have the longevity to get through the sequence 3 times. I quickly realized I was not breathing correctly. Once I got the proper rhythmic pattern of breathing correctly, it was almost as if I had opened a new world!
I was awarded my Yoga Instructor Certification August 2013 and awarded my Pilates Certification February 2014, both from the National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association.
Class begins with warm up techniques and exercises to get the blood flowing in the body. (Sometimes we follow the warm up with Meditation)
After the warm ups we move into different Sun Salutation Sequences to get the body warm and open to move freely.
Following the Sun Salutations we move into the actual Sequences set for class.
We end class with cool down movements and stretching.
This depends on the type of class and or students participating. For elders I like to take more of a basic Hatha Yoga approach. For others I am more subseptable of teaching in more of a Power/Vinyasa Flow. When practicing on my own I like to do a little bit of everything: Basic Hatha, Power/Vinyasa, and Ashtanga Yoga.
Yoga is a practice where you find yourself and is welcoming to creating your own identity.

About the Calisthenics Journey:
My Calisthenics Journey Began in 2009. This is when my love for weight training began to disappear. An old world in New York City and Russia, but a new world in other parts of the world evolved known as Calisthenics. Thanks to YouTube a new world of fitness began to develop that enabled all Bar Athletes to unite and share there workouts. Pull ups, dips, push ups, leg raises, sit ups, and squatting with no weight is what we did. It was not until 2012 that I started training for the handstand and forearm stand. But physically, nothing has challenged me more than the poses that are done in Yoga. Calisthenics is my first love, but yoga is my everything for fitness.
